Olivia qualified for Salt Lake by qualifying at the Powderhorn in Sheridan, Wyoming. The Drive-Chip-Putt contest is at Augusta National each year before the Masters. Bighorn Basin Junior Golf Tour

Greg is happy to announce the amazing success of The Olive Glenn Junior Golf Program. As most of you know we had a fantastic turnout for our Junior Academy. As a result the Bighorn Basin Junior Golf Tour has been filled to the brim with juniors from Olive Glenn. So far our golfers have completed 3 of the 4 tournaments, with our kids being the majority in each event. We could not be happier  for these young golfers. They are taking their game to the next level and learning many life lessons along the way. Way to go guys!!

The Annual Stampede Golf Tournament

Last weekend’s Stampede Tournament was one for the record books with 136 players. The competition was fierce. Best Ball of partners gross and net once again proved itself to be a fun filled format. There was a very nice horse trailer if you got a hole in one on Hole 14. Hole 14 proved to be a real challenge to our competitors 9 out of 136 players were even able to hit the green. Many players were able to double their shop credit betting themselves on Hole 16. After the round was over the masses were out to watch the top teams play in the derby. Carts were everywhere you looked as the leading teams played their hearts out for their chance to say that they won the Stampede Derby. The Prime Rib dinner paired well with the band, while bets for the Calcutta were being made. Sunday the weather could not have been anymore perfect. The players were tired, but some of the best rounds were played on Sunday with Clinton Boutelle tying his own course record of 60. After all the calculations were completed the wonderful weekend came to a peaceful end. To see the result of the Stampede Tournament click here.

Where is the Pro?

The Junior Academy is up and running. Greg and his dedicated teaching staff are hard at work with these eager kids. Each junior is entitled to at least 6 hours of instruction a week. Our juniors will also be learning all aspects of the game. They will learn exercises to help keep their bodies in top shape. They will be learning proper golf etiquette and behavior on the course. Respect and responsibility are two of the most important traits we want our juniors to learn. By learning how to treat people and to be responsible for their own actions, we are able to teach these lessons that these kids will carry for the rest of their lives. It is our goal to not only to turn these juniors into players, but to also give them all the tools that they need to mature into young adults. There are still spots available even for those kids that are going out of town. Greg will take the time they missed out of the initial fee.

So if you are looking for Greg he can be found on the range. He is more than capable of taking care of everyone’s needs, but lesson times are filling up fast this summer. Call the Pro Shop to set up your lesson’s, but do not wait. We cannot guarantee you will get your first choice time.
